Righteousness Consciousness Series — Part 4 :

Righteousness Consciousness Series — Part 4 :

**LIVING IN THE SPIRIT** *HOLINESS CONSCIOUSNESS *Living with the Awareness of God Within*

Righteousness is not the finish line. It is the starting point.

It removes condemnation. Restores access. Brings you into right standing with God. But it is meant to lead you somewhere deeper — into holiness consciousness. Because a man who knows he is righteous, yet is not conscious of the One who dwells within him, will still live casually.

The story of Ananias and Sapphira proves it.

---

**Righteous Identity, Misaligned Living**

They were part of the early Church — a community saturated with the presence of God, marked by unity, purity, and the manifest work of the Holy Spirit. They had been brought into righteousness. They had standing before God.

But they lacked the response.

Righteousness gives you access. Holiness is what you do with that access. Ananias and Sapphira had the standing — and treated it casually. Their deception was not just a moral failure. It was an identity failure. They were righteous people living without holiness consciousness.

---

**They Forgot They Were Temples**

Peter's question cuts deep: *"Why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit?"*

Their lie was not against men. It was against the Spirit living within them.

If they had truly been aware — deeply aware — that the Holy Spirit was not just present among them but actively discerning and sanctifying their hearts, they would not have acted so carelessly. But when a believer loses consciousness of the indwelling Spirit, consecration becomes optional. Compromise becomes easy.

They did not act like people set apart. They acted like people who had forgotten they were temples.

Holiness begins with awareness.

**The Lesson of Israel: Power Without Transformation**

The children of Israel witnessed the Red Sea part. They walked through on dry ground. They followed a pillar of cloud by day and fire by night. God made Himself undeniable among them.

Yet when they stood at Sinai — when God descended — everything changed.

The command was severe: *"Take heed to yourself that you go not up into the mount or touch the borders."* Man or beast that touched the mountain would die. Set bounds. Come no further.

Why such a serious command?

All along, Israel had been experiencing the dimension of righteousness — where God was relating to them in spite of their imperfection. He delivered them. He made a way. He fought for them. But now His holiness was being unveiled, and what was required shifted entirely.

And yet — Moses was allowed to come up.

*"Let the others stay away,"* God instructed, *"lest the LORD break forth upon them."* Only Moses could ascend. Why?

Psalm 103:7 gives the answer: *He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel.*

Israel knew His miracles. Moses knew His ways.

Israel celebrated what God did. Moses understood who God is. And because Moses understood God's nature — because he knew what was expected of him in God's presence — he was holiness conscious.

That is the distinction. Not rank. Not favour alone. Consciousness.

The people were not allowed near the borders of the mountain because they had not cultivated an awareness of God's holiness. Moses ascended because he had. He did not just experience God's power — he had grown in the knowledge of God's nature, and that knowledge shaped how he carried himself in the presence of God.

Power reveals God's acts. Holiness reveals God's nature. And only those conscious of His nature can draw near.

Many believers today are in the same place as Israel — celebrating breakthroughs, testifying of what God has done, but not yet living conscious of who God is within them. That gap is exactly what holiness consciousness closes.

**You Are Not Approaching a Mountain**

Here is where the New Creation revelation becomes higher.

The Israelites prepared to approach the mountain periodically. You carry the presence daily. God is not just with you — He is in you. Your body is His temple.

Holiness, therefore, is no longer a preparation to come near. It is a consciousness of who already lives within you.

This is why you are instructed to reckon yourself dead to sin and alive unto God. Not to perform holiness — but to live from indwelling awareness. Your body is sacred space. Live like it.

---

**Holiness Is a Response**

If righteousness is God giving you access despite your imperfections, then holiness is your response — the evidence that you understand what that access means.

Holiness says: *I know who lives in me. I will not treat the sacred as common.*

Ananias and Sapphira had access — but did not discern its weight. Israel had power — but could not draw near to His nature. Moses knew God's ways — and ascended where others could not go. The believer today has been given both the right standing and the indwelling spirit but without Holiness he won't see God at the end of the day.

A man not conscious of this will live casually. A man who is aware will live set apart — not by pressure, but by revelation.

---

**Final Thought**

This is not a call to fear. It is a call to awaken.

You are not just forgiven — you are indwelt. You are not just accepted — you are set apart. You cannot walk in righteousness and live casually with sin — not because God is counting faults, but because your nature has changed.

*Righteousness gives you access to God.* *Holiness shows that you understand God.*

Ananias and Sapphira had Righteousness — but lacked understanding of God's holiness. Israel experienced God's power — but lacked criteria to come closer. Moses knew God's ways — and walked where others couldn't approach.

You have been given more than Moses carried.

God is not on the mountain. He is within you.

So live conscious of it.

Because when holiness becomes your awareness — righteousness finds its full expression.
