Righteousness Consciousness Series: Part 5

*Living in the Spirit* — New Creation Consciousness
# You Are Not Ordinary #
---
Righteousness consciousness begins with identity. Until a believer understands who they are at the core of their being, they will continue to live beneath the reality of what God has accomplished in Christ. Your life will always reflect your level of consciousness — and the foundational question is "Are you aware of who you are?"

## From Eden to the New Creation
When God created Adam, He formed a being of extraordinary depth and divine intention — a unified being of spirit, soul, and body, designed to reflect His image.
Adam's dual nature at creation reveals both the original design of humanity and God's deeper intention for restoration. Genesis 2:7 declares, "Then the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." The Hebrew word for "life" (chayim) is plural, pointing to the twofold nature of life imparted to Adam: physical life, enabling him to function in the material world, and spiritual life, allowing him to commune with God.
Adam was spiritually alive, morally aware, and fully aligned with his Creator. His spirit, soul, and body functioned as one. There was no struggle, no divided desires — only a seamless flow of obedience and communion with God.
The Fall shattered all of that. Adam's spirit was separated from God. His soul became dominant. What followed was fragmentation — conflicting desires, a weakened will, and a body subject to decay.
But here is something more revealing: through Jesus Christ, God did not merely restore what Adam lost. He created something entirely new. Scripture declares that anyone in Christ is a new creation (kainos) — a being unprecedented, never seen before. This is not an improved version of the old self. It is a completely new identity, indwelt by the Spirit of God.
Adam had fellowship with God externally. The new creation carries God within. The Holy Spirit does not merely relate to the believer — He dwells in them. This is a higher reality than Adam ever knew.
Redemption, therefore, was never just about forgiveness that brought about reconciliation to God but also restoration of God's nature in man. Therefore, Christ became our wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, redemption.

## Bezalel and Daniel: Witnesses of the Spirit-Filled Life
Two Old Testament figures illustrate what it looks like when a man is empowered by the Spirit of God.
In Exodus 31, God did not say, "Bezalel is talented." He said, "I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship." Bezalel's creativity was inspired, not self-generated. His wisdom was revealed, not learned. The Tabernacle he built was a shadow of heavenly things — and only a Spirit-filled man could execute it.
Then there is Daniel. Kings testified about him: "An excellent spirit is in him — knowledge, understanding, interpreting dreams, solving riddles." They did not merely call him intelligent. They recognized something else. Even unbelieving rulers could discern: "The Spirit of the gods is in him." Daniel operated with insight beyond education and solutions beyond human reasoning.
Two different fields — one in craftsmanship, one in governance. But the source was the same: the Spirit of God. This establishes a spiritual law: no man fulfills divine purpose by human ability alone. Without the Spirit, effort becomes struggle. With the Spirit, effort becomes grace-backed expression.
Yet here is the critical distinction. What Bezalel and Daniel experienced was selective and external. The Spirit came upon them for specific assignments — then lifted. The new creation is different. What they experienced temporarily, the believer now carries permanently. Not the Spirit upon, but the Spirit within.

## The Tragedy of Unconscious Living
Many believers today carry creative gifts, leadership tendencies, and counseling grace — yet these gifts remain dormant. Not because they are absent, but because they are not yielded to the Spirit.
They admire Bezalel's wisdom but ignore their own inheritance. They celebrate Daniel's excellence but remain unaware of Christ within, who holds the treasure of all wisdom and knowledge. The issue is not lack of abilities — it is lack of awareness.
Four things keep believers living below their design. First, they do not realize that the same Spirit who worked in Daniel lives in them. Second, they over-rely on human ability — education replaces revelation, strategy replaces sensitivity to the Spirit. Third, they neglect the inner life, ignoring the Spirit's promptings. Fourth, they fear stepping out when the Spirit leads beyond comfort.

## The Call to Consciousness
Through Jesus Christ, this reality is no longer selective. You are not waiting to be chosen like Bezalel. You are not hoping to stand out like Daniel. You are already indwelt by the Spirit who gives godly wisdom as an expression of His indwelling.
This means your mind can carry divine wisdom. Your hands can produce divine excellence. Your decisions can reflect divine insight. The difference is not the availability of the Spirit — it is your response to Him.
When a believer becomes conscious and yielded, the teacher begins to teach with insight, the leader begins to lead with clarity, the counselor begins to speak with precision, the creator begins to produce with originality — not by pressure, but by participation with the Spirit within.
The new creation is not a man visited by God. He is a man inhabited by God.
You are not ordinary. Live in that consciousness.
